With Christmas and the New Year right around the corner, the scramble for christmas gifts begins and new year resolutions epiphanies start forming in your minds. Speaking of new year resolutions, we hope that achieving a healthy lifestyle is on your list and here’s why!
There are so many reasons why exercising is good for you and there’s really no pill that comes close to what exercise can do for you. Even if there was, it would be one really expensive pill!
EXERCISE IS GREAT FOR YOUR BRAIN
Exercise improves blood flow to the brain, feeding the growth of new blood vessels and even new brain cells! It promotes better memory and quicker learning. I don’t know about you, but after every workout session, my mind is instantly cleared and I can think better! As of now, it is the best way to prevent or delay the onset of Alzheimer’s disease!
YOU MIGHT GET HAPPIER
Exercise triggers the release of endorphins, helping to lighten your mood. It is most definitely a fantastic tension and stress reliever. It is not just about the physical benefits that exercise can bring to the table anymore, but the psychological and emotional benefits too!
IT MIGHT MAKE YOU AGE SLOWER
Ladies will especially love this point! Aging slower means better skin, it means looking young (the same) even when you are celebrating yet another birthday! Tell me, who does not want that? Exercise revs up blood flow to the skin, delivering oxygen and nutrients that improve skin health and even help wounds heal faster!
If those points still can’t motivate you, maybe the last one will.
YOUR FAT CELLS WILL SHRINK
The body uses both carbohydrates and fats as energy sources. After consistent exercise, our bodies actually get better at burning fat, which requires a lot of oxygen to convert to energy. As our cardiovascular system gets stronger through exercise, it gets better at delivering oxygen, so we are able to metabolize more fat as an energy source. As a result, our fat cells which produce the substances responsible for chronic low-grade inflammation, shrink, so does inflammation!
Have a great weekend everyone!
Stay fit and healthy always,
