This week is extra special because one of us is turning another year wiser! Yes, we will be celebrating Roy’s birthday this week but not to worry, business remains as usual. So, here’s a little bit about Roy!

 

He has been with Gymsportz since the early days, then took a break after he graduated from NTU with first class honours in Chemistry and Bio-Chemistry to try out what it would be like to work in the corporate world as well as try working in a laboratory. In a year or so, he realised his heart was still with Gymsportz and soon, he made a career switch and never looked back. 

 

Gysmportz means a lot to Roy in many ways, and for one, it is working with his best friend, Chen. He also enjoys interacting with customers and helping them find what they need, to set up their home gym! He also finds joy in helping the business grow in various ways by maintaining not just our official website, but also various platforms such as Lazada, Shopee, and Qoo10. He is also very patient and detailed when it comes to sharing about the gym equipment we carry at Gymsportz. 

 

Roy jumps out of bed every morning at 6am, eager to head to work but on top of just having his breakfast and heading out, he’s also a dedicated family man who wakes his 2.5 year old son up lovingly every morning and gets him ready for school! Only after dropping him off, does he make his way to the warehouse, and reaches before 8am.

 

He is easygoing and fun to be around, and no matter how busy work gets, he rarely gets stressed out nor loses his temper and approaches every situation in a calm demeanour. It is a rare trait to have, because personally, even when I lose my temper at Roy because of the stress that comes with the job, he responds in a way that makes me forget why I am angry. This guy’s unbelievable! 

 

We had a surprise birthday lunch, complete with a cake middle of this week, so here are some photos we’d like to share from the celebration:
